No major financial publisher, including Forbes, Bloomberg or Celebrity Net Worth, has published a net worth estimate for Bill McBeath, so this page does not give one. What is on the record is a 35-plus-year run at the top of Las Vegas casino management: president of Treasure Island, The Mirage, Bellagio and Aria, chief executive of The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, chairman of Australia's Crown Resorts, and until April 2026 a minority owner of the Rio.

What is Bill McBeath's net worth?

An older version of this page stated a figure of $17 million and an income of $600,000 a year. We could not find any reputable publication behind either number, so both have been removed. McBeath has never run a publicly listed company as chief executive in a way that required his full pay to be disclosed, and the ownership stakes he has held were in private deals.

Two things point to wealth well above a typical executive salary, though neither comes with a dollar amount. Casino.org's Vital Vegas column reported in 2021 that McBeath reportedly held ownership points in The Cosmopolitan when Blackstone sold the resort's operations to MGM Resorts in a deal that valued the property at $5.65 billion in total. And in April 2026, Gambling News reported that his minority stake in the Rio Hotel & Casino was bought out when Kennedy Lewis Investment Management took control. The size of either stake and the price paid for it have not been made public.

Where the money comes from

  • Executive pay. Decades as president or CEO of large Strip resorts owned by Mirage Resorts, MGM, and Blackstone. Salaries and bonuses for these private or subsidiary roles were not published.
  • Equity in The Cosmopolitan. Reported ownership points during Blackstone's ownership, which ended with the 2022 sale of the operations to MGM.
  • Board fees at Crown Resorts. Chairman from July 2022 to July 2024, then an independent non-executive director. Crown is owned by Blackstone and no longer publishes director fees on the stock exchange.
  • The Rio stake. A minority ownership interest in the Rio, bought out in 2026.
  • Advisory work. His professional profile lists Prospect Hospitality Advisors, a consulting business.

Early life and education

McBeath is a Las Vegas native who went to Clark High School and graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 1986, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. His UNLV degree is a bachelor of science in hotel administration, and in 2018 the university profiled him as one of 50 notable alumni of its William F. Harrah College of Hospitality. UNLV's hotel school also named him alumnus of the year in 2004, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

He has said that nobody in his family worked in the industry; growing up while the city grew pushed him toward hospitality. The previous version of this page claimed he held a master's degree and gave a height, weight and age that no source supports. Those details have been removed.

Career: from casino trainee to resort chief

After college he spent a year in a casino management training program run by Michael Gaughan, rotating through dealing, the cashier's cage and the race and sports book. He then joined Steve Wynn's Golden Nugget company, where he met Bobby Baldwin, beginning a working partnership that the Review-Journal says lasted 23 years.

Aria and CityCenter

Aria was the 4,004-room centerpiece of CityCenter. In a 2009 interview with the Las Vegas Sun before the opening, McBeath said the resort drew 175,000 job applicants, interviewed 55,000 and planned to employ more than 12,000 people across the campus. He also said Aria would have the first server-based gaming floor in Nevada. He resigned three years after the opening; MGM chairman Jim Murren said McBeath wanted to step back and reassess his career goals.

The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

McBeath later became president and CEO of The Cosmopolitan, the roughly 3,000-room resort owned by Blackstone. Casino.org credited him with much of the turnaround of a property that had lost heavily after opening; in the 12 months to February 2020 it produced $959 million in net revenue. In May 2022, shortly before the sale to MGM closed, the resort announced a $5,000 bonus for all 5,400 staff, a payout CBS News said would cost more than $27 million. At the same event McBeath said the resort had given more than $9 million to charity over seven years.

Crown Resorts chairman (2022–2024)

When Blackstone bought Australia's Crown Resorts in June 2022, it installed McBeath as chairman, micenet reported. He took over while Crown was under pressure from regulators in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia after inquiries into money laundering and governance at its casinos. In June 2024 the company named former Virgin Australia chief John Borghetti as the next chair from 1 July 2024. According to Gaming Intelligence and Inside Asian Gaming, McBeath said his focus had been the reform program and that Crown Melbourne and Crown Sydney had kept their licenses during his term. He remained on the board as an independent non-executive director.

This is why the page title calls him a Crown Resorts director: he still held a board seat after giving up the chair.

Recent changes (2025–2026)

McBeath's link to the Rio goes back to 2021, when the property's new owner, Dreamscape Companies, told Nevada regulators it had brought him in as a consultant on gaming matters (CDC Gaming Reports). He later became a minority partner. In April 2026, Kennedy Lewis Investment Management took a controlling interest in the Rio, reducing Dreamscape to a secondary stakeholder, and McBeath's stake was bought out, ending his role in the ownership group. The deal terms were not disclosed.

Family and personal life

An earlier version of this page named a wife. We could not confirm that name in any reliable source, so it has been removed. McBeath keeps his private life out of the press, and this page does not guess.

Net worth compared

Other executives with profiles here include Bill Duker and Arthur Lozinski. Unlike founders who own most of their companies, McBeath built his career running resorts owned by others. That usually means large but undisclosed pay packages and smaller equity stakes, not a single big fortune.

Why no figure is given

Estimating McBeath's wealth would require his salary history at private companies, the size of his Cosmopolitan and Rio stakes, and what those stakes sold for. None of these have been reported. Any site giving an exact figure is guessing. We will add a number if a reputable publisher reports one.
