No reputable outlet has published an estimate of Crystal Maggelet's personal net worth. The $11.8 million figure on earlier versions of this page had no source, and it is far below what the public record suggests. Maggelet is CEO and chair of FJ Management, the Salt Lake City family company founded by her father, Flying J founder O. Jay Call. Forbes lists FJ Management among America's largest private companies, with about $4.7 billion in revenue and 15,000 employees in its 2025 data.
What is Crystal Maggelet's net worth?
There is no figure from Forbes, Bloomberg, Celebrity Net Worth or a major newspaper. FJ Management is privately held by the Call and Maggelet family, and the ownership split among family members has not been published. The company's size is public, though: Forbes puts its revenue at $4.7 billion for 2025 and $7 billion in each of the two prior years. Its holdings include Maverik, with more than 850 convenience stores, the refiner Big West Oil, TAB Bank and the Crystal Inn hotel chain. Because her personal stake is not disclosed, this page does not give a number, but the $11.8 million figure should be disregarded.

Where the money comes from
- Maverik. The convenience store and fuel chain, which she bought from her cousin in 2012 and expanded with the 2023 purchase of Iowa-based Kum & Go.
- Big West Oil. Petroleum refining.
- TAB Bank. A bank owned by the family company.
- Crystal Inn Hotel & Suites. A hotel chain she founded, with locations in Utah and Great Falls, Montana (Utah Business).
- Board seats. In May 2026 she joined the board of Extra Space Storage, a public company, which pays directors (company release).

Early life and education
Maggelet grew up in Brigham City, Utah, and describes her younger self as shy but a top student. Neither of her parents had college degrees, but both pushed her to go. She earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Pepperdine University and an MBA from Harvard Business School (Utah Business; Extra Space Storage).
Saving Flying J
Her father asked her to build a chain of independent hotels, and she opened the first Crystal Inn in 1994. She did not expect to run Flying J, and in 2009 she had four children under 13 at home. But as a board member she saw the chance to influence a company in trouble. She became CEO at 44, took Flying J out of Chapter 11 and repaid the $1.4 billion it owed creditors, Utah Business reported. She later served on the board of Pilot Flying J.
In her book she describes a period of doing whatever it took, and says she no longer wanted to watch from the sidelines as the company unraveled. Utah Business noted that she learned much of her approach from her entrepreneurial parents at the dinner table, and that she credits values such as transparency, humility and not fearing failure. When she opened her first hotel she tracked tasks on more than 100 color-coded index cards.
Building Maverik
When her cousin Mike Call wanted to sell Maverik in 2012, she asked whether he would sell to her, and he did within months. Under FJ Management the chain grew from about 240 stores to more than 400 in ten years, and the Kum & Go deal took the group past 800 locations in 20 states. After Chuck Maggelet retired as Maverik's CEO in March 2024, she stepped in as interim chief and was named permanent CEO in July 2024, leading nearly 15,000 team members, C-Store Dive reported.
Recent changes (2025–2026)
In April 2026 the Maggelet family, through its businesses and foundation, pledged $10 million to Great Salt Lake Rising, alongside $10 million each from the Miller and Marriott families (FOX 13). Her son Drew Maggelet, a Maverik board member, spoke for the family at the announcement. In May 2026 shareholders elected her to the Extra Space Storage board. She also directs giving through Call to Action Philanthropies.

Why there is no figure
A company with billions in revenue can be worth a great deal, but its value depends on profit and debt, which FJ Management does not publish, and the family has not said how ownership is divided. Until a reputable publisher estimates her stake, the honest answer is that she leads, and shares in, one of the largest private companies in the U.S., and her personal wealth is not public.
