Amy Witherite Net Worth 2026: 1-800-TruckWreck Lawyer

No reputable outlet has published an estimate of Amy Witherite's net worth, so the $10 million figure that appeared here before, which had no source, has been removed. Witherite is the Dallas-Fort Worth personal injury lawyer behind Witherite Law Group and the heavily advertised 1-800-TruckWreck brand. Her wealth comes from ownership of that firm, which does not publish its revenue.

What is Amy Witherite's net worth?

There is no reliable figure. Personal injury firms are private partnerships or companies, and their income depends on settlements and verdicts that are often confidential. What public reporting does show is the scale of her spending on giving: sponsored content in D Magazine in 2022 said she gives back more than $1 million a year, and her firm has funded turkey giveaways for thousands of families in Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta. That points to a profitable practice, not to a number.

How Amy Witherite makes her money

Witherite Law Group handles car and truck crash injury cases. D Magazine partner content describes it as one of the largest female-owned personal injury firms in the country and says Witherite started out in medical malpractice before moving into truck and car wreck law as that area of law changed. The firm operates under the 1-800-TruckWreck name, which she owns, and has offices in Dallas, Fort Worth and Atlanta, according to Fort Worth Inc.

The 1-800-TruckWreck name also sponsors radio promotions and community events in Dallas-Fort Worth and Atlanta, which is why many people know her name from ads and giveaways rather than from court cases.

Early life

Witherite is a Fort Worth native who grew up on the city's West Side and graduated from Arlington Heights High School, Fort Worth Inc. reported. She attended Fort Worth schools in the early 1970s while the district was still integrating, and her mother taught at an elementary school in the Stop Six neighborhood. She was a competitive swimmer.

The earlier version of this page said her father was a lawyer and police officer and gave a birth month and year. We found no source for those details, and they have been removed.

Education

Witherite earned a bachelor's degree in finance and accounting from Southern Illinois University, according to Fort Worth Inc. The earlier version of this page said she studied political science at Southern Methodist University; that was wrong.

She had no plan to become a lawyer. After a spell in Europe, she went back to Southern Illinois intending to train as a teacher, and a former English professor, Joan Martin, pressed her to take the LSAT. She has credited Martin with her career. She then graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law, D Magazine's partner profile says.

Career

Witherite began in medical malpractice and later built her practice around truck and car wreck cases. The earlier version of this page said she co-founded a firm called Eberstein Witherite with Brian Eberstein in 2001 and became sole owner in 2015; we could not confirm those dates in a reliable source, so we give them only as unverified.

The earlier page also claimed she was named by Reuters as one of the top 50 female attorneys and listed several other awards. We could not verify those claims and have removed them.

Philanthropy

• Thanksgiving meals: For close to 15 years the firm has given away Thanksgiving meals in Fort Worth; in 2021 that reached about 3,000 families, Fort Worth Inc. reported.
• Atlanta turkey giveaway: In November 2025, 1-800-TruckWreck ran its fifth annual giveaway with V-103 and New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, handing out turkeys to 4,000 families, more than $100,000 in donations, according to Atlanta Daily World.
• Dunbar High School scholarships: The firm has given more than $160,000 in college scholarships to Dunbar High School graduates in Fort Worth, renewing $2,500 a year per student, and sponsors a mentoring program called Dads of Dunbar.
• Food pantry: It supports the Stop Six Mobile pantry, which feeds about 200 families a month.

Recent work (2025 to 2026)

In 2026 Witherite has become a prominent critic of driverless vehicles. In July 2026 she called on regulators to consider pulling Waymo robotaxis off public roads after vehicles stalled in San Francisco and blocked traffic in Atlanta over the Fourth of July weekend, according to a release carried by CBT News. In an August 2026 op-ed in The Philadelphia Inquirer, she urged Philadelphia to slow its Waymo rollout, citing cases where robotaxis got in the way of emergency responders. She has written similar pieces for Texas newspapers.

Wife and personal life

Witherite is married to Barbara Witherite. CBS News Texas reported that Dallas police arrested the couple after an altercation with valets in the Bishop Arts neighborhood and charged both with misdemeanor assault. We found no report of how the case was resolved. The earlier version of this page gave her age as 59 in 2023; we could not confirm her birth date and have removed it.

Why no estimate exists

Law firm profits are private, and settlements are often confidential. Witherite's firm is well known through advertising and charity, but neither tells us what she owns. Until a reputable outlet reports on her finances, the honest answer is that her net worth is not public.
