Kylian Mbappé's net worth is about $250 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth (page updated June 2026, checked September 2026). Yahoo Sports and The Times of India cite the same figure. The single biggest driver is pay: Forbes estimates he earned $95 million in the 12 months to May 2026, $70 million of it from Real Madrid and $25 million from sponsors.

Where the money comes from

Mbappé's fortune rests on four streams: club pay, a large signing bonus, endorsements, and a growing set of equity stakes. The table sets out the figures published by the outlets that track him.

Real Madrid salary and signing bonus

When his Paris Saint-Germain contract ran out in 2024, Mbappé joined Real Madrid on a free transfer and a five-year deal. Because Madrid paid no fee to PSG, a large part of the money went to the player as a signing bonus, paid in installments. Celebrity Net Worth reports that bonus in a range of roughly $107 million to $164 million; Yahoo Sports, republishing Athlon Sports, gives a narrower $107 million to $134 million.

His base pay in Madrid is lower than his last PSG salary. Reports cited by Celebrity Net Worth put it around €15 million a year after tax, and Yahoo Sports gives about $16 million a year after tax. The difference between those net figures and the €31.25 million gross estimate is Spanish income tax.

Image rights

Real Madrid has often split a star's image rights evenly with the player. Celebrity Net Worth reports that Mbappé negotiated to keep as much as 80% of his, which means more of the sponsorship money stays with him rather than the club. That clause is the main reason his total income stayed near the top of the sport even after the salary cut.

Endorsements

Forbes lists his sponsors as Dior, Electronic Arts, Hublot, Nike, Oakley and Sorare. Estimates of the annual endorsement haul vary: Forbes says $25 million, The Times of India says $15 million to $20 million, and Yahoo Sports says $30 million to $40 million. EA Sports put him alone on the cover of FIFA 21 in 2020, one of the youngest solo cover athletes the series has had, according to Forbes.

The biggest commercial change of 2026 is his boot deal. In September 2026 he ended a relationship with Nike that went back almost 20 years and signed with Swiss sportswear company On, which is entering soccer. CNBC described the On agreement as a 10-year partnership. Neither company disclosed the value.

Career and how he got here

Mbappé was born in Paris on December 20, 1998. His earnings curve tracks four club moves and two World Cups.

  • 2015-2017, AS Monaco: broke into the first team as a teenager. Celebrity Net Worth estimates his salary at the time at roughly $1 million to $1.5 million a year. Monaco won Ligue 1 in 2016-17 and reached the Champions League semifinals.
  • 2017-2018, move to PSG: joined on loan in 2017, made permanent in 2018 for a fee Celebrity Net Worth puts at about $200 million. His gross base pay jumped into the $23 million to $25 million range.
  • 2018, World Cup winner: at 19 he became the second-youngest player, after Pelé, to score in a World Cup final, as Forbes notes.
  • 2022, PSG extension: turned down Real Madrid to sign one of the richest contracts in the sport, with a nine-figure signing bonus and loyalty payments. The Times of India reports the deal was worth €630 million over its lifespan.
  • 2022, second World Cup final: won the Golden Boot and scored a hat-trick in the final against Argentina, which France lost on penalties.
  • 2023, Saudi offer declined: Al-Hilal reportedly offered a one-season package that some reports valued near $772 million. He said no.
  • 2024, Real Madrid: joined on a free transfer and a five-year contract.

According to Wikipedia, he is the all-time top scorer for PSG, with 256 goals, and for the France national team, and he holds the record for most goals at FIFA World Cups.

His place on the Forbes highest-paid athletes list shows how steady the income has been. The Forbes list, as compiled on Wikipedia, had him third in 2023 at $120 million ($100 million on the field, $20 million off it), sixth in 2024 at $110 million, and Forbes ranked him 12th in 2026 at $95 million.

Recent changes (2025-2026)

  • PSG back-pay ruling. In late 2025 a Paris labor court ordered PSG to pay him disputed wages and bonuses. The Times of India puts the sum at about €60 million; Celebrity Net Worth reports it as $70 million.
  • Stake in Alan. In 2026 he took an undisclosed stake in Alan, the French digital health insurer, which The Times of India says raised €100 million at a €5 billion valuation in March 2026. The deal includes him co-designing wellness content in Alan's app.
  • 2026 World Cup. Forbes named him among the highest-paid players at the tournament. He captained France; afterwards he told CNN the campaign was not a failure.
  • Nike exit, On deal. The September 2026 switch to On, reported by CNBC, ended one of the longest athlete relationships in Nike's soccer business.

Assets and business interests

Mbappé's family runs his business affairs. His mother, Fayza Lamari, set up a family company in 2017 to manage his assets and image, later renamed Interconnected Ventures, according to The Times of India. His investment vehicle, Coalition Capital, holds the stakes below.

  • SM Caen: an 80% stake in the French club, bought in 2024 for a reported €15 million to €20 million.
  • Sorare: a minority stake in the fantasy football platform, made in 2022.
  • Alan: a stake in the health insurer, amount not disclosed.
  • Loewe Electronics: a minority stake, per The Times of India.
  • Zebra Valley: a production company he co-founded, which has a content partnership with the NBA.
  • KM Influence: an athlete image-rights management company he co-founded.

None of the sources we checked reports verified property holdings, so we have left real estate out rather than guess.

Net worth compared

Among footballers, Mbappé is well ahead of most of his generation but still behind the two stars who defined the previous one. The Times of India puts Erling Haaland's net worth near $100 million, less than half of Mbappé's figure. Forbes' June 2026 roundup of the highest-paid players at the 2026 World Cup was led by two players it now counts as billionaires, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

Outside soccer, the comparison with tennis is useful: Venus Williams' net worth was built over a career of more than 25 years, while Mbappé's came in about a decade. For a sense of how far apart the top and the rest of football are, compare him with a professional on a normal club wage, such as Albert Fantrau. Pickleball's biggest earner, Anna Leigh Waters, shows how much smaller the pay pool is in newer sports.

Why estimates differ and how this figure was reached

Kylian Mbappé net worth estimates cluster tightly around $250 million, but the inputs behind them are softer than the headline suggests.

  • Gross versus net pay. Spanish outlets tend to quote after-tax salary; Forbes and Capology quote gross. A €15 million net salary and a €31 million gross salary can describe the same contract.
  • The signing bonus. Published ranges run from $107 million to $164 million, and the money arrives in installments over five years, so not all of it is in his accounts yet.
  • Private stakes. SM Caen, Zebra Valley and his startup holdings are private. Their value is known only when a transaction happens.
  • Taxes, agents and family costs. Earnings are not net worth. Estimates subtract assumed taxes and spending, which no outside outlet can see.

We use Celebrity Net Worth's $250 million because it is the most recently updated figure from a publication that shows its method, and because Yahoo Sports and The Times of India arrived at the same number in June and July 2026. Given Forbes' earnings estimates of $95 million to $120 million a year since 2023, the figure is plausible and may prove conservative if the PSG ruling is paid in full and the On deal is large.
