No reputable outlet has published a net worth for Anthony Berritto, and the $22.5 million figure that used to sit on this page had no source, so it has been removed. The best public clue to his wealth is the value placed on the company he ran for more than three decades: in June 2021 a public company agreed to buy SalSon Logistics, the Newark, New Jersey, trucking and warehousing firm he led, for $90 million. That deal did not go ahead, and SalSon was instead acquired by Total Transportation Services (TTSI) in 2022 on terms that were not disclosed.

What Is Anthony Berritto's Net Worth?

There is no sourced estimate. Berritto's ownership share in SalSon, and what he received when the company was sold, have not been made public. What the record shows is that he was the long-time president and CEO of a business that, according to a 2021 acquisition announcement, was profitable, had almost $100 million in annual revenue and was valued at $90 million on a multiple of its earnings.

Because the size of his stake is unknown, the $90 million price should not be read as his personal wealth. It does show that the company he built was worth tens of millions of dollars at its peak.

Anthony Berritto Yearly Earnings, Monthly Income and Salary

The old page listed a yearly income of $750,000, $63,000 a month and $2,100 a day, credited to "a survey." There is no such survey and no public record of his salary, since SalSon was privately held. Those figures have been removed.

The 2021 agreement did say that Berritto would sign an employment contract to keep running SalSon after the sale, and that the deal would not close without it. The terms of that contract were never published.

SalSon Logistics: The Business He Ran

SalSon was founded in 1960 by Sal Berritto and Sonny DeMarco, according to Transport Topics. It is a port-to-shelf logistics company based at Port Newark, next to the Port of New York and New Jersey, and it moves imported containers from the docks to warehouses and stores.

By June 2021 the company had, according to the acquisition announcement:

  • more than 1,200 employees;
  • over 1 million square feet of warehouse space;
  • a dedicated fleet of 550 tractors and 1,500 trailers;
  • locations in New Jersey, Florida, Georgia, New York, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia;
  • services including drayage, transloading, warehousing, cross-docking, dedicated truckload, pool distribution and store delivery for retail, food and beverage and industrial customers.

Berritto was also the public voice of the company. In 2017 he wrote posts on the SalSon blog about port congestion, the Bayonne terminal appointment system, driver working conditions and new hires.

Career Timeline

His LinkedIn profile lists him as a driver at SalSon before he became CEO and president in 1990, a role he held until September 2024. Since October 2024 he has been a senior business advisor to the company.

The 2021 Deal That Did Not Close

The TLSS agreement, announced on June 21, 2021, was conditional. TLSS, a small company traded over the counter, needed to raise roughly $60 million in financing for the cash part of the price, about 2.4 times its own market value at the time. The announcement said the deal would not close without that financing. About 15 months later, TTSI announced that it had completed its own acquisition of SalSon, its fourth on the East Coast. TTSI did not disclose the price.

SalSon Today (2024–2026)

After the August 2024 merger, Transport Topics reported that the enlarged SalSon would have about 1,000 employees, 900 tractors and around 3 million square feet of dry warehouse space in California, New Jersey, Alabama and Washington, with headquarters in Newark and Long Beach. In March 2025, Transport Topics reported that the company was expanding its Newark operations, where it has over 100 acres at the port, and adding hubs in Florence, New Jersey, and Compton, California.

Early Life, Family and Education

The previous version of this page included paragraphs about his childhood, his wife and a degree from "Hard Knocks University," along with an age of 52, a height and a weight. None of it had a source, and it has been removed. His personal life has not been covered by reliable outlets, so we do not speculate about it.

Why There Is No Reliable Estimate

SalSon was private, its sale price to TTSI was never disclosed, and Berritto's share of the business is unknown. Any single net worth figure for him online is not tied to a document. For another trucking business owner, see our profile of Craig Lebeau, founder of Wowtrucks. The only hard number is the $90 million valuation in the 2021 agreement, which applied to the whole company and never closed.
