No reputable outlet has published an estimate of Brandon Mabe's net worth. The $12.5 million figure on earlier versions of this page had no source and has been removed. Mabe is a third-generation member of the family behind the Baldknobbers, the country music and comedy show that opened as Branson, Missouri's first music show in 1959. He is the show's emcee and general manager, and he was a lead figure in the 2014 truTV series Branson Famous.

What is Brandon Mabe's net worth?

There is no figure from Forbes, Bloomberg, Celebrity Net Worth or a major newspaper. The show is a small, privately run business, and its ticket revenue, payroll and ownership split are not public. The record also points to a business under financial pressure in recent years rather than a large fortune: in 2017 the family's original theater was sold at a courthouse auction after a loan default, and in 2020 his parents said publicly that they had filed for bankruptcy while trying to keep another business going. For those reasons this page does not give a number.

Where his income comes from

  • Running the show. Mabe has been described as the show's general manager since at least 2014 (Branson Tri-Lakes News), and as its emcee and front man.
  • Performing. He sings and hosts the nightly show, and has headlined local broadcasts such as Branson Country USA at the Grand Country Music Hall (Branson Tri-Lakes News).
  • Television. He and the family starred in Branson Famous on truTV in 2014. Pay for the series was not reported.

The Baldknobbers: family history

Brothers Lyle, Bill, Bob and Jim Mabe started the Baldknobbers in 1959, and the family built its own theater on Branson's strip in 1969 (Branson Tri-Lakes News; KY3). Brandon is the son of Tim Mabe, who played the comic character "Droopy Drawers Jr.," and he has performed on stage since the mid-2000s.

Branson Famous (2014)

Mabe told the Branson Tri-Lakes News that he first emailed the production company in February 2013. The series, which The New York Times reviewed in December 2014, mixed reality TV with musical numbers sung to the camera, and centered on the show's attempt to modernize and on family tension around his relationship with McCombs.

Leaving the family theater (2017)

In early 2017 Mabe told the Branson Tri-Lakes News that his grandmother was the sole owner of Baldknobbers Inc. and had decided to sell the theater and step away. He and his father then partnered with an investment group to keep the show going under a new name at the former New Shanghai Theatre, which they renamed the Branson Famous Theatre. The old theater went on the market at $3.5 million. KY3 reported in June 2017 that it sold on the Taney County courthouse steps for $2 million after a default on a 2006 security agreement with a local bank.

Firing his father (2020)

In January 2020, KOLR/OzarksFirst reported that Brandon, as the show's manager, had removed his father, Tim, from the cast. His mother, Patty, wrote online that the couple had recently filed for bankruptcy while trying to keep another business afloat. Brandon responded that he loved his father and that decisions were made in the interest of the family, the business, its partners and the cast.

Recent activity (2025–2026)

The show is still running. In 2026 the Hughes Brothers Theatre lists "Branson's Famous Baldknobbers" on its calendar, billing the show as having performed in Branson for more than 65 years.

Personal life

Mabe's longtime stage partner is singer Megan McCombs, who grew up in Pella, Iowa, earned an English degree from Central College and sang in Shoji Tabuchi's show before joining the Baldknobbers (Branson Tri-Lakes News). Earlier versions of this page said they were married, and that he had a degree from Evangel University; this update could not confirm either in a reliable source. The height and weight given before were also unsourced and have been removed.

Why there is no figure

Live-show businesses in Branson are small, private and sensitive to tourist numbers. Mabe's share of the show, its investors and its debts are not public, and the family's documented financial setbacks make any large number hard to justify. Until a reputable publisher reports a figure, the accurate answer is that his income comes from running and performing in the family show.
