No reputable outlet has published a net worth estimate for Dan Towriss. The $27 million figure that older profile sites, including this one, carried had no source and has been removed. Towriss is the founder, CEO and president of the insurance group Group 1001 and the CEO of TWG Motorsports, which runs the Cadillac Formula 1 team and Andretti Global in IndyCar. His personal stake in those businesses has never been disclosed.
What is Dan Towriss' Net Worth?
Forbes, Bloomberg and Celebrity Net Worth have not published a figure for him, and none of his companies report executive pay or ownership stakes publicly. Group 1001 is privately held and, since 2024, a subsidiary of Mark Walter's TWG Global, according to IndyStar. That means much of the value he helped build sits inside a larger group rather than in his own name, and there is no public way to separate the two.
What is on record is the size of the businesses he runs. Wikipedia credits him with growing Group 1001 to more than $66 billion in assets. That is money managed for policyholders, not his personal fortune, and it should not be read as one.

Dan Towriss Yearly Earnings, Monthly Income, and Salary
His salary is not public. The older version of this page claimed he earns $900,000 a year, $75,000 a month and $2,500 a day. No filing or article supports those numbers, so they have been removed. Because Group 1001 and TWG Motorsports are private, neither has to disclose what it pays its CEO.
Where the Money Comes From
Group 1001
Towriss founded Group 1001 in 2013 under its earlier name, Delaware Life Holdings, per IndyStar. The group is based in Zionsville, Indiana, and its Indiana-based subsidiaries include Delaware Life Insurance Company, Clear Spring Life and Annuity Company and Gainbridge, a direct-to-consumer annuity brand. The earlier version of this page said he had "previously" run Clear Spring Life; in fact Clear Spring is one of the companies inside Group 1001, which he still leads as CEO and president.
Group 1001 is linked to Guggenheim Partners through Mark Walter, who is CEO of both Guggenheim and TWG Global.
TWG Motorsports
TWG Global created TWG Motorsports in February 2025 and named Towriss its CEO. The unit holds majority stakes in Andretti Global (IndyCar), Spire Motorsports (NASCAR), Wayne Taylor Racing (IMSA) and Walkinshaw TWG Racing (Supercars), and it runs the Cadillac Formula 1 team, which joined the grid in 2026 as the championship's 11th team. The Cadillac F1 operation is split across Fishers, Indiana; Charlotte, North Carolina; and Silverstone in England, The Drive reported.
His path into racing began with sponsorship. Gainbridge first appeared on an Andretti Indy car in 2019 and later became title sponsor of the Indianapolis 500. Towriss joined Andretti's ownership group in 2023, and in October 2024 Michael Andretti handed control of Andretti Global to him.

Recent Changes (2025-2026)
Cadillac F1 debut. Cadillac started the 2026 season with Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas as its drivers. Its car is built largely in-house with Ferrari engines and gearboxes. It spent the first half of the year near the back of the 22-car field, with a best finish of 13th, according to The Athletic.
Leadership change. In August 2026 Towriss replaced team principal Graeme Lowdon with Marcin Budkowski, the former Alpine boss. Towriss called the move an "inflection point" for the team and pointed to reliability problems and communication gaps at the Silverstone factory as issues to fix.
Super Bowl ad dispute. In February 2026 director Michael Bay filed a civil suit in Los Angeles seeking more than $1.5 million, alleging the team and Towriss used his ideas for Cadillac's Super Bowl livery-reveal commercial without paying him. Towriss said the creative work was done before any talks with Bay and that he expected the matter to be resolved amicably, ESPN reported.
Federal investigation of Group 1001 insurers. IndyStar reported in August 2026 that the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York and the SEC are examining whether Delaware Life and Clear Spring Life and Annuity reported more than $16 billion of investments with affiliated businesses as unaffiliated. Both companies received grand jury subpoenas in February 2026. Delaware Life restated the affiliated share of its private credit holdings from 3% to 42%, S&P Global Ratings moved its outlook to negative, and the company said it planned to move up to $6.5 billion of affiliated assets to TWG Global. No charges against Towriss have been reported. A TWG Motorsports spokesperson told the paper that the Cadillac team and Andretti Global are not for sale.
Early Life & Education
Towriss grew up in Muncie, Indiana, and attended Muncie Central High School. He went to Indiana University Bloomington on a baseball scholarship, but an elbow injury ended his playing career. He moved to Ball State University and earned a bachelor's degree in actuarial science in 1994. The older text on this page about his childhood and his study habits had no source and has been replaced.
Dan Towriss Wife
Towriss married Cassidy Rudman on October 10, 2020. Cassidy Towriss is closely involved in his motorsport projects, and he told The Drive she often reminds the team that they "fought for the right to be stressed."
Age, Height, Weight
Dan Towriss was born in July 1972, which makes him 54 in 2026. The older version of this page listed him as 40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall and 72 kg; the age was wrong, and no source gives his height or weight, so those figures have been removed. He lives in Fishers, Indiana.
Philanthropy
Towriss sits on the boards of the Cal Ripken Sr. Foundation, RISE (a nonprofit that uses sport to promote social justice) and Indy Women in Tech. In February 2024 he and Cassidy gave $2 million toward a new YMCA of Muncie on the campus of his old high school.
Net Worth Compared
Towriss works alongside far wealthier owners. Mark Walter, his boss at TWG Global, agreed in August 2026 to sell the Los Angeles Lakers for $12.5 billion, IndyStar reported. Towriss is an operator and minority owner rather than the controlling investor. Other executive profiles on this site include Demaris Harvey and Colin Browen.
Why No Figure Is Given
A credible estimate would need his equity in Group 1001 before and after the TWG deal, his stake in Andretti Global and TWG Motorsports, and his pay since 2013. None of that is public. Figures on content farms are guesses. This page will add an estimate only when a reputable outlet publishes one.
